People say that while tough situations don't last, tough people do. I couldn't agree more. Every time my parents were in need of extra support, whether it be because of health issues or because they needed a translation of their mail, their friends are always there for them. When my mom was sick, her friend made our family dinner for two days. When one member of our close-knit community ran out of rice, another would scoop some out of their own cabinet, put it in a Ziploc bag, and bring it to the member in need. As I got older, I worried about who would support my parents if I no longer lived with them. I'm so grateful I'm surrounded by people who are going though the same experiences as me and my family. It's comforting to know that we're not alone.
